One of my Christmas gifts was a membership to planet fitness.
I actually asked for it and was pretty excited about it.
I like going to the gym, it's a great reason to get out and meet people and more importantly get healthy.
Back in the day (eight months ago) I had lost a lot of weight because I was going to the Y all the time and eating "better."
So today with a new workout hat, I went to Planet Fitness and got on a swanky looking elliptical.
I just forgot one major thing...stretching.
Maybe if I was on a treadmill, it wouldn't have been as bad, but since the elliptical utilizes more muscles than the treadmill, and not stretching, I felt it right away. And it wasn't a burn of intense exercise. No my friends it was as if I was a rusty wheel, moving without oil.
So I was able to go 20 mins, but it wasn't easy. But it will get easier.
Especially if I stretch...

So I'm at work, and since I'm the only one I put on the tv, because I wanted to watch highlights from last nights Pats game which I missed.
Turns out our work tv doesn't get any sports oriented channels. Not even MTv so I can watch a marathon of some tween show.
It's a battle between Judge Mathis and Love Actually....
...Love Actually won.
Can't help it, Kiera Knightly is adorable.

Oh sweet, sweet top five lists. I won't lie, this is always one of my highlights of the year. Writing these lists. And it's not because it's such a unique thing. Top (Insert number here) lists are as much of an editorial cliche as you can get it. It's right up there with "What's hot and what's not" (almost always accompanied with a funny graphic of a mercury thermometer), it's pretty much the same five movies/songs/tv shows on every list with the exception of one dark horse to stir controversy.
So my theory is to do the top five things I wish I never experienced of 2007.

(Why yes this is plagrized from my work blog)
I recently moved into a new place. One of the many selling points, was that cable and internet are included in the rent, which makes it slightly more affordable and fantastic because I only have to write one check.

Thank you Battlestar Gallactica for being so awesome!
However, I believe last episode you told me you would be back in January. What's up with making me wait until March?
But Razor fulfilled my need for BSG, that I'll forgive you...and It will also inspire me to watch the last three seasons again, because it explained a lot! So much that I think I might have forgotten some stuff.

The new Dunkin Donuts uniforms are different colors and vaguely resemble the uniform from Star Trek: TNG.
My question is, do the DD uniforms signify rank? Or just if the employee liked red instead of orange.

This season of Heroes has been great.
Sometimes a second season of a show can be a make or break season. Lost for example, its second season took less of a sci-fi edge because ABC didn't want to "Buffy-size" it.
But Heroes has been able to keep up the intensity while introducing new characters and storylines. And almost flawlessly too. There are some hiccups here and there, but for the most part it's been a very entertaining season.
And despite Claire's desperate attempts to keep busy during the writers strike (which is the reason why this season looks like could end in two weeks, which is a shame, but hopefully it will end soon, because of selfish, selfish reasons....and I don't want to watch American Gladiators and Deal or No Deal on NBC come spring time), I have to say I'm happy to see that they aren't half-assing this half-season of Heroes.
Tonight's episode for example....
By the way....BSG Mini-series "Razor" premieres Saturday...so at least I'll be amused before Lost hits ABC, and I won't be completely without entertaining tv in the spring.

Pushing Daisies isn't on! Instead it's the Country Music Awards.
No one cares about Kenny Chesney or the Eagles or Martina McBride!
Grrrrrrr!

I think there is only one other person who reads this who would care about this, but last nights "Office" was directed by Joss Whedon.
(I was going post a link to TVlinks here, but it seems that the website has been shut down. Probrably because it was very illegal...but it will be missed.

They do things like this.
Hayden Panettiere (Claire from Heroes) felt the need to go out with an animal rights group and save some dolphins. I have no problem with this, good for her she has interests outside acting.
My problem is that she was actually out in the middle of the ocean with the group cutting dolphins out of nets from Japanese fishermen.
I mean I like how she's using her popularity and money for good causes, but is it really neccesary to do this?
From the AP story:
"Fishermen on a boat approached the activists and ordered them to leave, shoving some of them with a long pole. An angry fisherman later shouted in the face of one of the protesters on the road above the cove. There did not appear to be any injuries." "This baby stuck its head out and kind of looked as us, and the thought that the baby is no longer with us is very difficult," Panettiere, who stars in the NBC show "Heroes," said after coming ashore."' Hayden, I know your young, and that you've had a lot of success before your 19th birthday, BUT, you're an actress...leave the nutso activism to aging hippies and actors with no career (e.g. Woody Harrelson and Ed Begley Jr.).

The Red Sox win.
I am happy.
However, in my excitement when when jakoby caught his big ball for the second out, I forgot my ceilling was 6'7 and I kind of broke my ceiling.
But I can fix that tomorrow. Tonight is for exhuburance.
And yes...I'll have my picture with that trophy again.

As happy as I am to be out on my own, because of my hastey descsion to move out in a hurry and not wait until I had one more paycheck under my belt, money is a tad tight for a week or two...ok...for three or four weeks.
But I digress.

Not the state.
Not of the eeiry variety.
Of the Jones type.
In the first Friday night in my new place by myself and without a drinking buddy to help me finish off Bud Light that I bought on Tuesday, I thought the only thing for me to do is to hook up the DVD player I've had in storage for five years (and bought for 75 dollars...why yes it does work perfectly) and watch a movie.
But what movie?
I wasn't in a Fight Club mood And I wasn't emo enough to put in High Fidelity or Four Weddings and a Funeral. Swingers was a viable option, and then I looked to the shelf below and saw my Indiana Jones Trilogy.
Of course in actuality I would've saved a ton of money if I just bought Raiders and the Last Crusade...that's right you're talking to the one guy that doesn't like Temple of Doom.
Also a little piece of trivia, that I didn't realize until 8:00 p.m., Dr. Octopus himmself Alfred Molina is the guy in Raiders that says the immortal line, "Throw me the idol, I'll throw you the whip."
Also Gimley himmself is a major secondary character in both.
And I don't care what people say, I'll be the first in line to see Indy 4.

Before I had said, it's weird to look at your life in boxes.
It's even more weird when your realize you had your life piled into one room.
I was thinking this yesterday as I slowly start to unpack and re-organize my life...but figurtively and literally.
And I have to say...the place is coming together nicely. With the exception of the bed and couch I bought when I moved into New Bedford, every other major piece of furniture was donated, so monies were saved on seating arrangements for guests.
And with the exception of some rugs and a tv stand that wasn't used by my father when he was in college, the place is practically done.
The first "quark" occured this morning when I went to take a shower and I had the lever over the red dot that indicated I should feel hot water, and instead received ice cold water. How cold? If this was 1922, I would be put in this water to break my fever. It turns out when the landlords put in the ...the....the....thing that you use to turn on the water (I want to say faucet, but the faucet is the spout the water comes out of...awesome...my brain freezes as I'm typing...maybe residule cold water effect) the didn't actually match it up with what direction you turn the knob to get the correct temperature.
So keep this in mind in case you take a shower in the new digs..."blue means cold."
I also met some of the local wildlife of North Plymouth...a large raccoon scurrying along my parking spot. At least it wasn't a opossum.
Yes pictures are forthcoming...and yes there will be a MTV Cribs-esque viewing of the "crib" coming soon.
